INSPIRING MINDS, HEALING HEARTS

Welcome to Inna V
Inna V is a psychotherapy and counselling practice dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. We provide compassionate, evidence-informed care for a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, complex PTSD, and personality-related difficulties.

Our work is trauma-informed meaning we view mental health challenges through the lens of your lived experiences, understanding how they shape your present thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships. We help you explore and process the roots of your struggles, regain control - ultimately, allowing you to reconnect with your inner values, vitality and vigour for a fulfilling life.

What is
Trauma?
What is Trauma?

Trauma may result from a single overwhelming event or from repeated experiences over time such as emotional neglect, abuse, loss, unmet basic needs, long term illness or chronic stress. In psychotherapy, trauma isn’t just about what happened - it’s also about how those experiences continue to affect your internal sense of safety and balance, Disturbance in these may affect how you feel about yourself, others and your environment, how you handle daily functioning and stress, and your relationships with others.

Effects
Effects of Trauma
Due to the impacts of trauma on the brain and nervous system, it may cause dysregulations in memory formation, threat response, emotional stability, and cognitive functioning. These show up in symptoms such as intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, nightmares, dissociation, and distorted thinking. Unresolved trauma over time can cause mental health issues like anxiety, depression, phobia, anger problems, or emotional numbness. Unhelping coping behaviour may result such as perfectionism, OCD, addiction, obsessions, and self-harm. Nervous system dysregulation can also cause physiological and physical issues such as weaken immunity, gastrointestinal distress, cardiovascular problems, chronic pain, and hormonal imbalances.

Transgenerational Trauma
Transgenerational Trauma

Trauma can also be passed down through families and across generations. This is known as transgenerational or intergenerational trauma, where the emotional, psychological, and sometimes even physical effects of trauma are inherited from previous generations. These can stem from unprocessed trauma effects of our parents and the generations before them, from extreme poverty, loss, abuse, displacement, war, oppression, or family dysfunction - often., experiences that may not have been openly acknowledged or emotionally resolved in prior generations. You may be carrying burdens that don’t feel entirely your own; yet, they impact your sense of identity, relationships, and mental well-being.

Therapy
Negative past experiences can leave us feeling "held back". Therapies tailored to addressing trauma effects are designed to provide a space that you can feel safe, understood and supported in your healing journey. Approaches such as EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and IFS allow you to process past experiences, with the aim to reduce the emotional charge trauma memory carry, so that over time, what once felt immediate, intense, and all-consuming can begin to feel distant. This is when the trauma no longer has the same hold over your present - so it stays in the past, where it belongs. You can then begin to regain control and feel free to move forward, beyond just surviving and toward living a life you desire.

At Inna V, we support healing through......
Rewiring Brains
The brain may become stuck in survival mode as a result of trauma. This can interfere with our capacity to handle stress, whether it’s from daily demands or major life events. Psycho education and proven neuroscience based approaches can help you build new neuro pathways and restore a sense of safety within the nervous system - shifting it from reactivity and overwhelm, to emotional regulation, clarity, and calm.
Inspiring
Minds
Past experiences can distort how we think about ourselves, others and the world. It is important to challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop mindset and behaviour that serve us. Through reflective dialogue and evidence-based strategies, you can develop clarity in your innate values and qualities, with a good sense of who you are in the world, accurately appreciating the good and the bad.
Healing Hearts
Emotional wounds can leave us feeling overwhelmed, guarded and disconnected. We offer a warm, empathetic and non-judgmental therapeutic space for your emotional healing. You can feel safe and supported to process any shame, anger, regret, or grief. This foster self-compassion and deeper connection with yourself and others, so you no longer feel misunderstood and isolated.
Empowering Growth
We believe that healing is not about merely surviving or coping. It is about transcending the effects of trauma - you decide to move beyond that part of your story. You can take back control, rediscover your inner vitality and capacity to thrive towards meaningful purpose and goals. We honour your pace and vision in your journey towards an empowered, authentic life........ beyond survival.

“Knowing others is intelligence;
Knowing yourself is true wisdom.

Mastering others is strength;
Mastering yourself is true power.”
